Air-gapped deployment, white-labelled as Udaan Messenger
Troop Messenger is a secure army chat app for messaging, voice and video calls and file sharing across headquarters, command posts and field units. It runs on the army's own servers or a fully air-gapped network and keeps working over satellite and low-bandwidth links.

A secure army chat app is a messaging, calling and file-sharing application that an army hosts on its own network, so orders, reports and files between headquarters, command posts and field units never touch a commercial cloud.
It complements tactical radios rather than replacing them. Radios carry voice on the move; the chat app carries text, images, documents and calls wherever a data link exists, with a full record.
| Used by | Headquarters, command posts, formations, field units, logistics and training staff |

| Deployment | On-premise, sovereign cloud or fully air-gapped (Troop-GRIT) |
| Networks | LAN, intranet, satellite connectivity, and low-bandwidth networks. |

Maps, photos, reports and orders still move by hand, email or a personal phone.
Soldiers fall back on consumer apps that expose contacts, locations and photos outside your control.
Postings, rotations and task organisation changes leave old groups open and new arrivals out.
Forward positions work over narrow, intermittent satellite or radio data links.
Different missions.Same platform.Your data stays yours.
Six land-force workflows that move faster on one secure channel.
Command
Duty officers share situation reports, overlays and orders in one channel, with calls and video for the planning cell.
Field units
Section and platoon groups for reports, photos and notes, on issued or approved phones.
Logistics
Coordinate convoys, ammunition and ration demands and supply point status between depots and units.
Readiness
Workshop teams report vehicle and equipment status, request spares and close out repairs in chat.
Training
Run exercise control, umpire and trainee groups that open for the exercise and close cleanly after it.
Aid to civil authority
Work alongside civil agencies as controlled guests during floods, earthquakes and evacuations.
Formations reorganise constantly. Troop Messenger follows the structure as it changes.
Mirror corps, divisions, brigades, battalions and companies, and regroup them for each task force.
Junior ranks request access to senior officers with a justification; officers approve for a set period.
Send one order or notice to an entire formation at once, with read status.
Bring allied liaison officers and contractors into named groups only.
Self-destructing private conversations for sensitive exchanges.
Remove a lost phone or a posted-out soldier from every group from one console.
Named algorithms, keys on your own servers and a complete audit trail. For the full architecture, see our secure military communication system page.
Every message, call and file is encrypted end-to-end.
On-Premise & Air-GappedA PQC-secured tunnel established before any data exchange begins.
On-PremiseA private window that leaves no trace once closed.

FAQ
A secure army chat app is a messaging, calling and file-sharing application that an army hosts on its own network, so orders, reports and files never touch a commercial cloud. Troop Messenger is one such app, deployed on-premise or on fully air-gapped networks.
Yes, on approved devices managed through your mobile device management, or on service-issued phones. The army owns every account and can wipe the app remotely or revoke access instantly.
Yes. Troop Messenger is optimised for high-latency and satellite links, using network accelerators to reduce round-trip time, jitter and packet loss in denied, disrupted, intermittent and limited-bandwidth (DDIL) conditions.
Units mirror the army’s formations, user authorisations stop junior ranks contacting senior officers without approval, and broadcast sends one order to a whole formation with read status.
An administrator wipes the app remotely and revokes the user and device from every group from one console, so no messages or files remain accessible.
Yes. Troop Messenger can be configured and extended to meet specific defence requirements, subject to technical feasibility and project scope.
Start with a security briefing with our solutions architect, then run a pilot on your own server or isolated test network with agreed success criteria.
